2021 has 12.5% of Lawrence County residents unemployed

Lawrence County recorded an unemployment rate of 12.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 597 people out of the 12,055 living in Lawrence County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Lawrence County has decreased compared to the 12.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Lawrence County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.8%.

Everyone who had a job at the time belonged to the civilian labor force.
