What background was most represented in North Pike School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

White students made up 53.5% of the 2,219 students enrolled in North Pike School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 3.7% decrease from the previous school year.

North Pike Senior High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 667 students.

A snapshot of North Pike School District schools showed 53.5% of students were white, 43.2% were Black, and 1% multiracial.

North Pike School District roughly covers four schools within Pike County and has a main office in Summit.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
