Black had the largest percent of student body in Mccomb School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 90% of the 2,242 students enrolled in Mccomb School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.9% increase over the previous school year.

McComb High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 619 students.

A snapshot of Mccomb School District schools showed 90% of students were Black, 3.7% were white, and 3.3% multiracial.

Mccomb School District roughly covers six schools within Pike County and has a main office in McComb.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
