Died December 4, 2024 – Known for Buffalo Bills career
He died on December 4, 2024. He was born in Natchez in 1938 and later played at Georgia Tech. In 1961, he joined the Buffalo Bills of the American Football League. He played guard for nine seasons and appeared in eight AFL All-Star games. He helped the team win two league championships. He never played in the NFL but was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999. He remains the only Hall of Fame member whose career was entirely in the AFL. His early life in Natchez marked the beginning of a path that brought lasting recognition in professional football.
