2021-22 School Year: What were the backgrounds of Wilkinson County School District students?

Black students made up 74% of the 1,016 students enrolled in Wilkinson County School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

Wilkinson County High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 289 students.

A snapshot of Wilkinson County School District schools showed 74% of students were Black and 26% were multiracial.

Wilkinson County School District roughly covers four schools within Wilkinson County and has a main office in Woodville.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
