Of the 2,829 students in Adams County schools, 47.9% were men and 52.1% were women, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

The previous year, the student body across Adams County schools was 49.1% men and 50.9% women.

Natchez High School in Natchez had the highest number of boy students while McLaurin Elementary School in Natchez had the most girl students.

There are eight schools within Adams County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
