White had the largest percent of student body in Pike County schools in 2021-2022 school year

Of the 6,070 students enrolled in Pike County schools in 2021-2022, 31.1% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Pike County students.

This is a 6.9% increase over the previous school year.

North Pike Senior High School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2021-2022 school year.

A snapshot of Pike County schools showed 31.1% students were White.

There are 14 schools in Pike County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
