What background was most represented in Copiah County schools in 2021-2022 school year?

Of the 3,711 students enrolled in Copiah County schools in 2021-2022, 45.9% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Copiah County students.

This is a 24.7% increase over the previous school year.

Wesson Attendance Center had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2021-2022 school year.

There are seven schools in Copiah County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
