Late Inning Runs Cost Braves in 13-3 Loss Against AAMU

The Braves outhit Alabama A&M 10-8 in the final contest of the weekend series, but it was not enough to claim the victory. Alcorn fell 13-3 to the Bulldogs, dropping to 0-3 on the season.

Despite seeing more action at the plate, the Braves committed five errors in Sunday's contest. Leftfielder Jaylon Lucky led the Braves at the plate with three hits on four at-bats. He also added two runs in the action. Garrett Palladino recorded two RBIs for Alcorn, connecting four a double and a single on five plate appearances.

Austin Guzman recorded his first pitching loss of the season. He entered the game in the sixth inning with one strikeout, one hit, three runs (two earned), and two walks. Austin Delgado started for Alcorn to pitch for 3.0 innings. He had six strikeouts, four walks, one hit, and one run.

CJ Mervilus led the AAMU offense. The shortstop came out of the dugout for a home run and three RBIs.

Dylan Gordon (1-0) was credited with the pitching victory. He occupied the mound for 2.0 innings for one hit against. Noah Whitted started the contest for the Bulldogs, pitching for 5.0 innings for five strikeouts, three earned runs, two walks, and six hits against.

Alcorn held the lead for five innings, scoring a run in the first and two in the second. AAMU would pick up its first run in the fourth inning and runs in the fifth and sixth to lock the board at 3.

Alabama A&M took the lead in the seventh with three runs. The Bulldogs added five runs in the eighth and two in the ninth for the 13-3 victory.
