Lawrence County Extension Office - Sasanqua Camellia

Sasanqua Camellia   This shrub is easy to incorporate into your home landscape and provides fall color when very few plants are blooming.  Ranging in height from 1-15 feet, some varieties are tree form in shape while others are spreading and bushy.  They have glossy dark evergreen leaves and start flowering in the fall.  They prefer filtered light and slightly moist, well-drained acidic soil.  Blooms may be white or various shades of pink.
