Alcorn State University’s women’s softball team has released its schedule for the 2026 season, which will begin with three weekends of neutral-site tournaments before the team’s home opener in late February.
The Braves are set to start their season from February 6–8 at the River City Classic in Jackson, where they will play against Arlington Baptist, Alabama A&M, Jackson State, and Dallas Christian. The following week, the team travels to Covington, Georgia for the HBCU Invitational and is scheduled to compete against North Carolina Central, Maryland Eastern Shore, Coppin State, Bowie State, and Howard.
From February 20–22, Alcorn will participate in the Alabama State Tournament held in Montgomery. During this tournament, they are expected to face Mississippi Valley State (MVSU), Alabama State, Jackson State, Tuskegee University, and conclude with another matchup against MVSU.
The Braves’ first home games will take place on February 27 with a doubleheader against Xavier University of Louisiana.
March includes an away game at Southern Miss on March 3 and a conference series at Arkansas–Pine Bluff on March 6–7. The team then travels to Louisiana Tech on March 10 before returning home for a three-game conference series against Prairie View A&M on March 13–14.
Additional matches in March include hosting Mississippi Valley State on March 24 and traveling to Nicholls State on March 17. Further road games are scheduled at Texas Southern (March 20–21), Southern University (March 27–28), and ULM (March 31).
April features several home fixtures starting with Grambling State (April 3–4) and a single game against Jackson State (April 7). Texas Southern visits Lorman for games on April 10–11 before Alcorn plays Memphis away on April 14. The Braves wrap up their conference road schedule at Prairie View A&M (April 17–18) and return home for Senior Day while hosting Arkansas–Pine Bluff April 24–25.
The Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament is scheduled from May 5–9 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
According to the announcement: “The upcoming season offers Alcorn a balanced opportunity to sharpen its competitive edge across multiple tournaments while building stride toward conference play.”
