Of the 737 students attending Jefferson County schools, 99.6% were Black. Asian students were the second most common ethnicity, making up 0% of Jefferson County student body.
In the previous school year, Black students were also the most common group in Jefferson County, representing 38.9% of the student body.
In the 2023-24 school year, the total number of students enrolled in public schools in the county dropped 30.7% when compared to the previous year.
